NBA: Rockets and Mavericks Set Up Major Texas Showdown

The Rockets are keen to extend their winning streak to three games when they visit the Mavericks at the American Airlines Center tomorrow to solidify their second seed in the Western Conference. On the other hand, the Mavericks are fighting their way out of the bottom half of the standings, and winning tomorrow would surely help their cause.

They will meet for the second time this 2025-26 NBA campaign, and we’ll surely see some new NBA 2025 highlights from these two sides. The hosts are the big underdogs for this high-profile matchup, according to the latest SBOTOP NBA 2025 odds.

Meanwhile, the Pelicans, Hawks, Warriors, Bucks, Kings, and Clippers will visit the Nets, Wizards, Cavaliers, Pistons, Heat, and Timberwolves to round out tomorrow’s seven-game schedule.

Golden State Warriors @ Cleveland Cavaliers

The Warriors will remain undermanned when they visit the Cavaliers, as they will be without Stephen Curry (quad), Jimmy Butler (knee), and Al Horford (sciatica). Meanwhile, Draymond Green (foot) is questionable after hurting his foot against the Sixers. Golden State lost 99-98 to Philadelphia on Thursday, as rookie guard VJ Edgecombe scored the game-winning putback and Tyrese Maxey stuffed De’Anthony Melton’s final field goal attempt.

Pat Spencer was the catalyst behind Golden State’s comeback attempt with 16 points, four rebounds, and four assists on 5-for-8 shooting. De’Anthony Melton, Buddy Hield, Moses Moody, and Quinten Post added 14, 14, 14, and 10 points.

The Cavaliers have also been without Jarrett Allen (finger) and Darius Garland (toe), but they’re coming off a 130-117 win over the Spurs, who were without Victor Wembanyama. Donovan Mitchell put up 28 points, eight rebounds, and three steals on 9-for-17 shooting, and the six-time NBA All-Star is expected to lead the way again.

LA Clippers @ Minnesota Timberwolves

The Timberwolves plan to exploit the Clippers’ freefall to extend their winning run to five games, which would help consolidate a Top 6 berth. After beating the Celtics and Spurs earlier this week, Chris Finch’s men swept the Pelicans in their mini-series.

After a tough overtime win in the first, the Timberwolves have a more convincing win over the Pelicans on Thursday night. Julius Randle led the way with 28 points, nine rebounds, and three assists on 9-for-18 shooting. Naz Reid, Rudy Gobert, Donte DiVincenzo, Jaden McDaniels, and Jaylen Clark added 19, 15, 15, 14, and 12 points. Anthony Edwards is expected to do better tomorrow after an anonymous performance against New Orleans, having notched only 11 points while turning the ball over eight times in 31 minutes of action.

The Clippers recently ended their five-game skid with a rout of the Hawks, but they dropped their Friday match against the Grizzlies. Kawhi Leonard had 24 points, eight rebounds, and four assists on 10-for-23 shooting. James Harden, John Collins, Kobe Brown, and Ivica Zubac added 18, 16, 13, and 10 points in the losing effort.

But more than their poor on-court performance, the Clippers have recently been criticized for disrespecting club legend, Chris Paul, whom they abruptly cut in the middle of the season amid their turmoil.

Betting tip – Minnesota Timberwolves Asian Handicap -10.50 @ 2.03

Houston Rockets @ Dallas Mavericks

Since dropping their first two games of the season, the Rockets have been virtually unbeatable, winning 15 of their next 18 games, including last night’s 117-98 home victory against the Suns.

Kevin Durant hit a major milestone in the said game, becoming the eighth player in NBA history to score at least 31,000 career points. The two-time NBA champion posted 28 points, four rebounds, eight assists, and three steals on 11-for-17 shooting from the field. Amen Thompson led the team with 31 points, while Jabari Smith Jr., Aaron Holiday, and Reed Sheppard followed suit with 16, 10, and 10 points.

Alperen Sengun did not play due to illness, but he’s expected to play against the Mavericks. The Turkish center was solid in their last meeting with Dallas in early November, having recorded 26 points, 11 rebounds, and six assists on 10-for-20 shooting.

The Mavericks were on a three-game winning streak before it ended at the hands of the Thunder on Friday. Jaden Hardy came off the bench and produced a team-high 23 points. Naji Marshall, Cooper Flagg, D’Angelo Russell, Max Christie, and Ryan Nembhard added 18, 16, 12, 12, and 10 points. Anthony Davis had only two points, eight rebounds, and six assists. He’ll need to score more to stand a chance against Houston.

Betting tip – Houston Rockets Asian Handicap -9.50 @ 1.89
