The Mavericks and the Lakers recently pulled off a blockbuster deal that saw NBA All-Stars Luka Doncic and Anthony Davis switch places. Dallas get the defensive anchor they need in Davis, and he is expected to make his debut wearing blue and white in a Texas showdown against Houston.
The Lakers also have a home game tomorrow against the Pacers, but Luka Doncic isn’t expected to play since he continues to recover from his calf injury. Fellow new signing Mark Williams might suit up, given his questionable tag on the official injury report.
Elsewhere, the Magic, Wizards, Bulls, Grizzlies, Timberwolves, Knicks, Suns, Kings, and Clippers will host the Spurs, Hawks, Warriors, Thunder, Blazers, Celtics, Nuggets, Pelicans, and Jazz, respectively.
It’s another busy day in the Association filled with NBA 2025 highlights with 10 games on the menu. Continue reading below for the SBOTOP preview of the top three matches to watch out for.
Houston Rockets @ Dallas Mavericks
Anthony Davis must’ve liked what he saw from his new team after they snapped their three-game slide with a road win over the Celtics last Thursday, avenging their defeat last January.
Klay Thompson went off for Dallas, notching 25 points, three rebounds, and four assists on 11-for-17 shooting from the field. Spencer Dinwiddie, Naji Marshall, Kyrie Irving, Max Christie, and Dante Exum also recorded 22, 20, 19, 15, and 15 points.
Before leaving LA, Davis said he wanted to shift to the power forward position and play alongside a bona fide center. It looks like he’ll get it in Dallas, especially after Daniel Gafford notched eight points, 15 rebounds, five assists, and two blocks in Boston.
The Rockets slipped to fourth in the Western Conference since they’re on a five-game losing streak. A huge reason for the slide is that Alperen Sengun was out for three matches due to a calf injury.
Sengun did play last Thursday, but he and the team’s balanced effort weren’t enough to dispatch the Timberwolves, who were sparked by Anthony Edwards’ 41-point outburst. The Turkish center put up 16 points, 10 rebounds, seven assists, and two steals on 6-for-11 shooting from the field in the losing effort.
Jalen Green top-scored for the Rockets with 28 points, six rebounds, and five assists but only went 9-for-22 shooting from the field.

Indiana Pacers @ Los Angeles Lakers
![Luka Doncic has yet to be included for the Lakers in their upcoming NBA clash with the Pacers](https://olahragamania.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/02/Luka-Doncic-holds-up-his-jersey-at-his-Lakers-introduction-2025.jpg)
The Lakers plan to extend their winning streak to five games, but they will face a stern challenge from the Pacers, who have won five of their last six.
Luka Doncic will not suit up for the Purple and Gold, but the Lakers will fancy their chances because LeBron James is in fine form. During their 120-112 win over the Warriors last Thursday, the four-time league MVP led the way with 42 points, 17 rebounds, eight rebounds, and six three-pointers on 14-for-25 shooting from the field and 8-for-10 shooting from the charity stripe. Austin Reaves, who had 23 points, three rebounds, four assists, and three steals on 4-for-17 shooting from the field and 15-for-16 shooting from the free throw line, will be the team’s second option.
The Pacers are fresh from a comeback victory over the Clippers last Thursday. Pascal Siakam had 33 points, 11 rebounds, two assists, two steals, and five three-pointers on 13-for-19 shooting from the field. Bennedict Mathurin added 25 points, six rebounds, and four assists on 8-for-13 shooting from the field and 8-for-12 shooting from the free throw line. Indiana will be without Myles Turner due to a neck injury, but the NBA 2025 odds are in their favour.

Boston Celtics @ New York Knicks
Two Top 3 seeds in the Eastern Conference will face off, as the Knicks host the Celtics in Madison Square Garden. These two teams last met on the opening night at TD Garden, where Boston blew out the visiting New York.
New York scored a 121-115 win over Toronto last Tuesday, as Jalen Brunson and Karl-Anthony Towns came to play. Brunson had a team-high 28 points and five assists, and Towns notched 27 points and 20 rebounds on 10-for-19 shooting from the field.
Boston aim to return to winning ways after losing to Dallas. Jaylen Brown had 25 points, five rebounds, and two assists on 9-for-16 shooting from the field, and Payton Pritchard added 21 points, six rebounds, and six assists on 9-for-15 shooting from the field.
Betting tip – Boston Celtics Asian Handicap -2.50 @ 1.94
